FINE Condition
Binding Details: Fine contemporary binding by the Sims Bindery of full tan calf leather with raised bands to the spine with twin red and green morocco labels as well as elaborate giltwork. Double gilt lines to the boards with floral stops at the corners. There are hand-sewn silk endbands and hand-marbled endpapers. Laid into the book is a signed card from Andrew Sims stating that the book was bound by the Sims Bindery.
Book Details: This is the second U.K. trade edition, preceded by the 1938 Bodley Head edition. Ulysses was recently chosen as the most important novel in the English language. Listed in Modern Library's Top 100 Novels [1998].
The book measures 8.25” x 6”, 765 pages
Condition Report: The binding is in FINE condition. Internally, the book is very clean with no signs of previous ownership. Overall, this is a beautiful binding that houses a wonderful edition of Joyce’s masterpiece.
